Watch this video to find out what tests are needed to confirm low T
1. Testosterone test
The testosterone test is the first step in understanding your testosterone levels. It’s a simple blood test, usually taken in the morning. This test helps us see where your testosterone levels stand and gives us insight into whether low testosterone might be affecting your health. We may also test some extra markers like SHBG and oestradiol for a fuller picture.
2. Advanced testosterone test
If your initial test shows low or borderline testosterone, we may recommend a confirmation test. This is where we dig a bit deeper by testing free testosterone (the active form your body uses) and checking other markers like SHBG.
3. Monitoring Tests
Once you’ve started treatment, monitoring tests help us keep track of your progress and make sure everything is going smoothly. These are done at regular intervals, like after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months then 6-monthly after that.
